Grads 2021 - where to start?
Grad may seem a long way off, but that means you have TIME to think & plan what to do!!
You may have some idea what you want to do, you may have no idea what you want to do - that's ok. There are lots of resources to help you look at options. If you start now, you have TIME to learn, explore, discover options for you and find what works for YOU.
1. Log in to your account on MyBlueprint.ca, or login. This is a powerful post-secondary and career planning tool that Surrey students have access to. You will be using it in all your Careers classes at Salish.
2. Look at options you have after high school
3. Researching post-secondary - sites to help you search by program area and career area
4. Research specific post-secondary schools -
5. Attend post-secondary events like Post-Secondary Day or virtual open houses or program info sessions
or contact the Career Centre for more info, make an appointment, or to pick up a post-sec
school info guide
6. Start looking at costs. Some helpful sites to help you plan - Build a Budget, UBC, KPU

4. Research specific post-secondary schools -
- check admission requirements (*important to know for when you're planning gr 12 courses) as they VARY by school and faculty you are applying to, for e.g.:
- check what types of programs they offer - specialized programs in your interest area? co-op? transfer studies? a year abroad?
- location - do you want to stay local, go farther afield?
- ask yourself WHY - why is this school on my list? how does it compare to others?
- do they have upcoming events or opportunities to visit? - open houses, Info Sessions, on campus visits:
